i wanted to apologize to all for my absence. some unfortunate issues surfaced and i had to take some time to determine my commitment to sparkle moti--er, mary. anyway, i'm back and will be focusing more on this game.

that being said, i'd like to pick up someone else, if anyone needs anything?

I don't have the kind of time needed to really devote to A.J. any longer due to my move and new job and all sorts of other real-life tasks , and it's not fair to hog his PB so I am removing him from the community. I will always love this place and so many of you who have played with me, but it's time to peace out. Have fun you crazy kids.

Just a heads up: landed in LA last night, so attendance might be spotty for a week or two while I get myself adjusted to seeing real palm trees and real fake tits up close.

since i started playing her, marianne has taken a different form for me. thanks to endless episodes of bones, mary is now a socially inept, logic queen..much like dr. brennan, for those familiar with the show. when it comes to music, she knows she's smarter than the average bear and has been treated like that her entire life. thanks, child prodigy. her mom & dad didn't take much of an interest, so she was never taught differently. and now, her life revolves around a 5 year old and rarely getting out of the house, so she hasn't changed. basically, if your kid converses with her, she'll be honest and probably won't handle conversation as well as she used to. but if she knows you're being silly, she'll join in because thanks to her daughter, she can handle that field, too.

hope that makes sense and wasn't too much of a time waster. just...pretend she's been like that all along and i don't take too long to develop a character. thanks!!

so as some of you may know, i dont have internet. woe. i was doing ok keeping up for a while but it has gotten a touch more difficult lately. so this is me pre-emptively apologizing for the ugly updates about to come from my characters and the slow or forgotton responses to posts and other such things on the fp. i will keep my characters signed on to aim as best i can so feel free to bother them there. im still up for scenes and threads i may just be slow. apologies on behalf of alex and the other two not being around much lately and i hope to remedy that soon.

computer issues have rendered me absent lately! i apologize a thousand times over! but it couldn't have happened at a better time, so as soon as my christmas present arrives, i will return. mary's available now, just through my phone so nothing too elaborate, unfortunately. customs are the best way to get a hold of us, thanks for the understanding!

No, it's not one of those. It's merely just an announcement that I'm tweaking Jensen's background just a little bit. I'm dropping the Phoenix connection and the Sunday Bloody Sunday. credit. We're just changing it to the fact that he was born and raised in Chicago (stick with what you know) and Ex Nihilo is the only band he's ever worked in. His training at Berklee is still the same, moving to Silver Lake is still the same, super fine-ass wife... All of it.

I've been kind of scarce on the FP, because I am in the process of moving to Florida and since packing/cleaning/selling things off is taking much more time than I anticipated, so I am taking a hiatus until after I've finished with my move and are somewhat settled into my new home. Then I'll be back looking for new sls and interacting a lot more!

So this can't really be a surprise but it's time for me to bow out RE. It's been almost three years and it's been amazing to see how characters have grown, interacted, the newcomers that have come in and out and all the drama (oh the drama!). I've admired everyone for their writing skills and character development because everyone is essential to this community. There's been a bunch of laughs, smiles, grumblings etc and every one of them has been welcomed. If anyone wants to keep in contact ooc just get in touch with me (pm, im etc) and no fuss if you don't. Thank you guys so much for an amazing time, RE will always be one of my favourite communities. <3

So long, ~rogerebert! A few of Braidan's favorite connections have moved on from the game and it's hard to imagine Braidan around these parts without the more important ones. I've had a lot of fun in my two years and this game has been one of my favorites. There have been plenty of characters I've adored from afar, and some I've hated from afar (all in good fun). Thank you for the awesome interactions, scenes and whatnot throughout the couple years I've been in the game.

Now for a bit of a reintroduction since I see there are some new(ish) folks around. Hi there!

portnovarro is an Irish-American actor who gained his in to Hollywood through a little-know WB series called "Dawson's Creek" as the titular character. From there, he hooked up with a well-known British director who set him on the road to mainstream Hollywood and critical acclaim. He stars as Jax Teller in the amped-up biker drama Sons of Anarchy (not too far of a stretch for the face) and was most recently seen as the dastardly, handsome (or "dastardly handsome"?) Jamie Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones. Despite three Golden Globe wins and BAFTA nominations, Porter tries not to take himself too seriously (he loves starring in music videos!). He's a bit of a hot head and argumentative at times, but is madly in love with one charmoll. Lives between LA & London.

This is Jensen Bellamy, guitarist and frontman of the band Ex Nihilo (sounds like 30 Seconds to Mars). He's originally from Phoenix, AZ with family ties to Chicago, IL and professional ties to Boston, MA (graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Class of 2005). He is the former bassist for Sunday Bloody Sunday., having left in Fall of 2010 due to commitments to his main band. Aside from playing a myriad of instruments, Jensen also DJs (post-concert sets, industry parties, charity events, etc), races motorcycles and is an acclaimed music video director, having taken the helm of his band's videos as well as those of other artists. He is currently on tour with his band in Europe. He resides in Silver Lake, CA and is soon to be wed to the love of his life, ldavis.

Hey, I just want to apologize to the people I had lines with for disappearing (so very long ago). I know you guys have heard every excuse under the sun so mine probably won't make a difference but yeah, got dumped and I basically died inside for awhile (which was pretty embarrassing to admit then, and even now actually). Anyhow, thank you guys for being so welcoming when he got in, even if he didn't last very long at all, and I'll just leave now. Maybe I'll come back in the future if you guys will have me then (which I doubt, and totally understand) but I'm just going to go ahead and formally pull Coen from this game.

This is going to affect a good, ooh, two people (which is telling in itself) but I'm pulling Robbie and Daria (ellor). I just don't have the time to devote to this game right now, which is upsetting but sadly the case. I will probably attempt to come back in the future, but at the moment my real life has to come first. I have enjoyed my brief time here with you all! Best of luck in all of your future endeavors and with the game.

so i was hoping i wouldn't have to do this but my internet is a temperamental bitch and for some reason decides not to work when it's too cold/too hot/stormy/occasional thursdays etc. anyway, with the recent heat it's being an ass and has been refusing to load the internet for the past couple days. i'm hoping that it shouldn't last too long (hopefully a week tops) but until it cools down to an appropriate temperature or vodafone stop being asses, i am only available on my mobile. ily all ♥

hey everyone! this is just a little heads up that i've changed lily's face from cobie smulders to malin akerman! nothing else has changed; just her face. sorry for any confusion or quick decisons! i thought i'd let everyone know and this is a perfect time to ask if anyone want customs or a line! :) i'll be happy to supply both like candy!

SO! IJ is being an asshole, but I'm putting a note up that I finally decided on a face for Chloe. As of today, she's officially PBed by Katy Perry, and along with that comes a slight bump in age from 22 to 23 years old (turning 24 in May) - something people probably wouldn't have even noticed anyhow, considering she's an immature twat regardless.

As far as Remy goes, I was considering continuing to use pictures of Gizmo (sans Victoria), unless a Victoria PB joins the game... is anybody against that? I feel like I'm losing the children in the divorce. If people feel weirded out by that (and honestly, it's okay to let me know if you are) then I can just search for stock photos of a black Pomeranian, so feel free to jump in, here. :(

Also, what is that Firefox Add-On that randomly picks icons for you? Can someone lead me in the right direction? I know we're a resourceful bunch.

I have spent the last nearly-18 months in rogerebert, and it's time for my curtain to come down. I want to thank everyone - new members and old - for a really wonderful ride. The ups and downs have all been worth it, and you have all given Yaël (and briefly Caitlin) a great home.

Thank you to the past and present Mods for their help and support. Special thanks to abhann, colden, ferrigno, lennix, nolam, nolas, uentin and vanderbos for always being total fucking rockstars through our interactions in game; I really appreciate it. And, of course, to all of you, for being a fun and active home for me since July 2, 2009.

Okay, guys, I've been debating this for a while, and I've decided that I'll do it.

FIRST If anyone would like a "fan page," I will make them, but I can't really switch around the coding too much. I did most of mwatts, and both rachelmartin and jpw have one, and I'm going to make one for tielle. I can do square columns instead of the rounded ones, and maybe a few small changes, but other than that I can't do much. I can try different things though if you have anything that you may want, but I'll make the graphics and everything if anyone wants one, just leave a comment here and link me to some pictures that I can use. HQ work best and with a solid color background, but I can try to work something out. And I can't promise to have them immediately, but I will get them as fast as I can. Just leave a request and a link in Jon's dropbox and I'll get to them as I can. I'm not the best with html or graphics, so please don't expect anything beyond what you see because that's pretty much the gist.

SECOND I've been thinking, and if anyone is interested, we can do it, but I was thinking a Halloween party in LA on the 31st. I am hoping that since it is far enough in advance, people can work it into their schedules. And maybe it could be something like "____________ is scary" and it could be for a cause (AIDS is scary, Breast Cancer is scary, etc.), but we could decide on one and people that go pay $200 as an entrance fee, plus donations if they would like, and it go toward an organization that supports that. OR we could chose a main organization, and then a few smaller organizations to support. October is breast cancer awareness month, so I personally think that it would be a good "main cause." Plus, it's a great way for characters to interact, and it gives people a chance fodatory since finding pictures of characters in costumes might be difficult for some. This post will be a post to kind of decide if they want to go, what charity we're supporting, etc. There will be a plot post closer to time for those that are participating and we can decide on whose going to do the updates and that kind of thing. For these kind of things, usually everyone does their own or one person takes on the role to do it for everyone. Edit It would be later, so that those with kids could take them trick-or-treating and get them home and settled. So it would start around 9 or 10. Actually, since Halloween is on a Sunday, we could do it on the 29th or 30th instead?

You are all fabulous writers with a really fantastic cast of characters and I have really enjoyed having Ender interact with everyone. I just don't think that I'm doing the faux-celeb genre of RP justice and don't want want to be a role-hog when I can't do it well. Thank you all again, you will be missed!

Just a quick heads up, since I know I'm about a million light years behind on things! I wanted to apologize about being scarce and dropping the ball on things, this past week or two especially. I've been trying to dig myself out of an avalanche of homework since the term is almost over and I've obviously been failing. But after tonight (two papers due in five hours, WHOO) it'll be relatively smooth sailing for a while and both Garbo and Magda will be back to their obnoxious selves and probably all over the page. Enjoy the quiet before the storm, all I'm sayin'.

I think that Toby's time here has finally run its course. I've really loved having him around and I have loved all lines I've had with him. He'll still be around for a little bit on aim but I'll probably unlink him before too long. Sorry times one million to johnfox because this was the best brother line I could have asked for. And sorry even more to jasonbellamy. I really loved them together and I wish I had more of a muse for Toby to keep him active but I just don't. I'll still be around with Alex, but if you'd like my ooc journal just let me know and I'll pm it to you.

Hi everyone! I swear I am not leaving! I just wanted to inform everyone that I changed Lucie's face from Sarah Michelle Gellar to January Jones. Giving you all a heads up, when you don't see SMG's face around. I couldn't help but change up Lucie's face. You gotta love January. With my lack of activity as of late, it probably doesn't surprise anyone that this post is coming, but it's still something I am doing with a heavy heart. I have called rogerebert my home for Josh (and then eventually Elena) the last two years and all I can say is that even with the coming and going of characters both new and old, and the changing hands of the mod team - each one just as amazing as the previous one - this has been one of the best games I have had the privilege of writing in throughout my time in RP. Unfortunately, real life has come up and thrown a lot of things my way, and I don't think I have the time or the energy to live in such a large community setting anymore. And, I think after two years, and with the absence of a lot of my lines, I think that I have done the most I am able to with my kids in ~re. So thank you to everyone who I have had lines with, and were able to write with over my span here. This is one of the few places where I've actually been able to watch a character and lines grow from nothing, and the amazing interaction I had while I was active is the entire reason for it. You are all such an amazing collection of writers, and have loved each and every one of you and what you had to offer such a stellar community, which has been kind of my safe haven. Keep continuing being the epic group of people that you really are, you all deserve a lot more praise than my very tired mind is able to give at the moment.

i thought about not posting in here, since i am still going to be around but, i wanted to take time to specifically thank everyone for your interaction with this character over the past two three (oy vay) and a half years. i've decided to remove her with tomorrow's rounds, a decision that was really, really extremely hard but i weighed the pros and cons for a long time before finally deciding that all good things must come to an end. i would have never thought it possible to have a character grow so much organically, and it's only because of the great sls i've had in this community that that was possible. i want to apologize to everyone she had lines with that she can't be round to snoop in their bizz anymore, but i will always have her contact post up and she is happy to reply to any comments from retirement land. i want to specifically apologize to my scene buddy kenziekass for being a flakey-ass on our good time, but this decision was hanging over my head and i hope you will forgive <3

that said, i will still be around with ~brianne and a new person very shortly who i suspect you will immediately know is me because she and phoebs will share some similar traits (letting go of a character after all this time is like heroin withdrawl, you have to ween yourself, you know?).

It crazy breaks my heart to do this, but I think I'm going to have to let Xavier go. He's not getting much interaction from more than a few people, so it's probably best to set him aside. The other two kids are staying put, but I'll give it some time and maybe Xav'll be back because I really do love him and his credits. For interaction purposes with jensenbellamy, the clothing line stays and he might be in a photo or two. Thank you for showing him love, guys!

Hello you beautiful, beautiful people. I just mixed sugar with a crazy mix of cold meds so I thought I should get this done now, before I die or start hallucinating. So, I'm a genius, and was so involved in making sure Magda's gallery opening was on a good day for her that I planned it on a bad day for me. Awesome! I refuse to let this get me down though, so it will still be happening on the 17th at Crewest in Gallery Row, downtown LA, starting at 9pm and running until midnight. Even though I'll be out of town I'm going to try (keyword, try) to post the link to everything that will be shown at the gallery that night, so it'll be done on time instead of late.

What I need from you guys are two things: 1, patience about replies since I won't be able to get to them until the next night at the earliest and 2, info! I'll be getting back Sunday night and was going to do a second update about what actually happened, instead of just pictures/what was being shown, and if you have any photos (preferably non-carpet ones, this is going to be relatively low key but if that's all you have we can make it work!) if your character is going to be there, or even just info about it if they show up. As a reminder, Magda does predominantly fetish/erotic photography, and even though she'll also be showing the next theme in her Valley of the Dolls project as well as paintings she's done, they'll also have a similar theme to them, so it probably won't be for everyone.

mac users, what do you guys use to load bls? am i the only person who gets 'this file is corrupt'? i think the new version of aim isn't compatible with aim for mac, is anyone using a different program to load? any tricks i don't know about? am i just doomed to load it on a pc forever? halp!

I just did a little googling to get Bri's schedule straight and discovered that the LA premiere of Eclipse is supposedly tomorrow! Thoughts on that? I figure we can push the date back a little if it doesn't work for everyone, but we probably have to do it soon.

While we're on the subject, can we discuss who's doing what shows promotion-wise? I think ~thatcher & I were planning to have them go on 'It's on with Ava Aloud' (if that's okay with you avogel) but I thought it might be good if we got all our ducks in a row. Also, we should all try pimping for a Jacob and see what happens. This is why I shouldn't play actors, I'm way too anal.

okay! killing two birds with one stone on this post! first order of business: Bri's 20th birthday party is going to be this sunday (6/13) at bungalow 8 in NYC. I figure it'll start around 9 or 10 and basically be open to any celebrity so if your kid is gonna be in New York they should come! even if Bri has never talked to them. it'll be a grand ole time! If you plan on having your character come please feel free to leave a photo and I will include it in the update!

secondly: Jennifer's Body cast! What's the status on filming? I know there's a premiere date in ~roeper, but, I wasn't sure if filming is totally done or what's up with that! Any help appreciated. Thank you!

I held the MTV documentary Summit on the Summit (if you want to watch the whole film/episode click 'full episode') a month or so ago and since Vivyan is finally really close to conceptualizing and talking about the project attached to finding Summit on the Summit, as well as recruiting some friends for the adventure. I figured I would put a mini plea for those that would be interesting in having their characters climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, it will take place over the first two weeks of October and the film will debut in January of next year. The characters would enter into months of training for the climb prior and have to be in good physical shape to complete the climb. I have a couple posts in the works in the next couple of months that would open the doorway for people to get in touch with her if they are interested in joining her on her crazy quest to bring the issue of clean water to the world’s attention. I am figuring 8 spots for “celebrity” climbers – 4 males, 4 females with a mixture of acting & music. At the moment the spots are filled but if one opens up I will be posting a link to this again.

Currently the climbers are vivyan, gracelyn, pescariu, lastings, edmonson, 1 open female spot, 2 open male spots.

let's be honest... this probably should have happened ages ago. i'm pretty done with emmett. it was a blast while it lasted, but he's long over due to be retired. thanks to everyone who made this comm so awesome while i was here with emmie. most of you probably know where to find me. later guys.

It's taken me literally months to do this but it's just not worth it to me to update Jayda, Kyle and Katie anymore. I truly love a good handful of the characters here - but if I'm being honest, I've been at this community for two and a half years and the people who are here now are an entirely different set of people then the people who were here when I was really in love with the place. With the characters I don't love, it's probably simply for lack of getting to know them, which I don't have the time or patience to do right now. That said, I'm bowing out - please remove jayda, katiebarclay and kyleransom. These characters won't ever die in my head (or at least, not for a long time) so if your character is friends with any of mine, feel free to keep IMing/facebooking/twittering with them.
